Cooling Tower Biocide
The Cooling Tower Biocide which includes CT Algaecides, Cooling water Algae Control, Biocides, Ligionella Treatment is extensively utilized for preventing the growth of Legionella inside cooling towers. We formulate these biocides by using high quality oxidized & non-oxidized constituents to ensure exceptional prevention from fungi, spores, bacteria and other micro-organisms that are responsible for hazarding the health of cooling tower.Our formulations are admired for features such as excellent prevention from life taking disease like legionella, avoid plugging of nozzles with biofoulants and improvise heat loss for proper cooling. CT Algaecide
Samrat Industries CT Algaecide is a very effective bactericide and algaecide for controlling and removal of micro-organisms and algae in recirculating water cooling towers.
The cationic charge on the active compound forms an electrostatic bond with negatively charged sites on the cell wall of micro-organisms. The stresses caused by this bond lead to cell lysis and death of the cell. It also distorts the permeability of cell wall thus reducing the normal flow of nutrients to the cell leading to cell death due to protein denaturation.
Paper mill water systems, oil well brines, drilling muds, paints, latex emulsions are amongst the various applications of Samrat Industries CT Algaecide besides cooling water systems.

Application and Dosage
Samrat Industries CT Algaecide can be directly fed from the container to the cooling tower basin or introduced at any point where good mixing can be ensured. No special equipment is required.
Samrat Industries CT Algaecide is normally dosed at 50 - 75ppm for control of bio-foulants. Badly fouled systems must be cleaned before treatment is begun. Shock treatment is advised thrice a week for the first week of treatment.
Samrat Industries CT Algaecide provides good surfactancy, which makes it a good cleaner cum disinfectant for manual cleaning and disinfection of cooling tower fills, louvers and sump at 10% v/v concentration with water. It is compatible with other treatment chemicals and shows great synergy with alternate biocide and biodispersant. Please refer to your CSL service engineer for exact product dosage.
Note: Samrat Industries CT Algaecide is slightly foaming in nature which does not allow its use in closed circuit systems.

Cooling Water Algae Control
COOLING WATER ALGAE CONTROL can be achieved by adding biocide to the cooling water system. These are usually two biocides that are used alternatively to prevent the algal fouling.
The ability of COOLING WATER ALGAE CONTROLING BIOCIDE to orient at interfaces plays a significant role in their control of biofouling and algae.
Application and Dosage

Legionella Treatment
Legionnaires' disease is a very serious lung disease (pneumonia) with chills, high temperature (fever) and muscle pains. One gets infected by breathing in droplets of water which contain legionella germs (bacteria) from contaminated water systems. If the illness is treated earlier with antibiotic medication, then the better is the likeliness to outcome. The illness is very serious and can be fatal.
To prevent Legionnaires' disease it is important to take proper care of all water bodies such as cooling towers, fountains, pool, AC, AHU, ducts, decorative water bodies, garden sprinklers, dust control sprinklers, fire tanks and water tanks.
The root cause of this disease is the water borne bacteria called Salmonella Legionella
Remedy
To prevent this life taking disease all water bodies must be added with suitable biocides. All cooling towers must be biologically treated. All airconditioning condensate water such as AHU, FCU must be fumigated, Every water body must be added with biocide to keep it free from biological contamination.
To be able to achieve a solution, Samrat Industries offers its range of biocide such as ALSTASAN SILVOX (Silver Hydrogen Peroxide based disinfectant).

How to Prevent Algae
Algae is a major problem in various water systems such as cooling towers, swimming pools, fountains, water bodies etc. Algae is usually seen as a slimy green microbial load attached on the surface of floor and vertical bodies of a cooling tower, tank, pool etc.
The deposition of algae in Heat transfer surface of Heat exchanger called biological fouling of heat exchanger and is a major problem that causes loss of time, power and production. Algae interferes with heat transfer operation of cooling cycle which reduces the efficiency of Heat transfer thereby resulting in direct / indirect commercial losses.
Remedy
Obviously the remedy to the problem is by removing the algae \96 which is easy but the difficult part is to keep the algae from coming back.
To achieve this one needs to use the right product to remove and to prevent the algae from coming.
The type of products that can do this job are oxidising biocides, non-oxidising biocides, algaestat, biodispersants etc.
